Women's Soccer Studio-Shoot

Shooting the women's soccer team was a fun time, they were awesome models. My favorite picture of them is the one above. I feel that the lighting in this picture is great because it looks dramatic. I took about 200 pictures of them as a team and also individuals. Right now I have taken team studio photos of four teams. I'm planning of taking pictures of the men's lacrosse team to finalize my poster project for my Omega. So far I'm learning a lot about lights, camera tricks, and my Photoshop skills are becoming more proficient. My athletics logo is almost done. All I have to do to it is a few tweaks to make it legit. Next step is making the posters.

Cycling Studio-Shoot

My shoot with the cycling team was a lot of fun. They were very cooperative with my instructions. Before my studio-shoot with them I looked up a few cycling poses on the internet of cycling college teams and professional cyclist as well. My search led me to find a really good pose that I made them do which is in the picture above. Regarding the lighting, it is very tough having perfect lighting especially when I am new to studio-shoots. But I'm glad to say that I'm getting progressively better with lighting in the studio and my progress is showing in my pictures.

Soccer Studio-Shoot

Week number 2 Omega project.

In my first blog technology failed me, since then I've done two studio-shoots. One with the women's lacrosse team and one with the men's soccer team. My pictures are progressively getting better. The only way to get better at something you love doing is doing it over and over again until you become a pro. My second studio-shoot with the women's lacrosse team was faster than the first one. This time my pictures did not erased. After every photo-shoot, all my pictures are saved in my laptop in case technology decides to failed my again and delete all my pictures. The studio-shoot with the men's soccer team was a lot of fun, and my lighting skills are getting better since my firs studio-shoot.
Currently I'm working on editing my pictures and the season posters for the women's lacrosse team and the men's soccer team. My Lees-McRae logo is also coming along, with a few sketches that I've done I have a good idea of what it is going to look like.

Technology Failed Me

My senior Omega project will contain the following projects. A new logo design of the Lees-McRae Athletic Department. Brand new uniform designs for a sport in the Fall (women and men soccer) and a sport in the Spring (women and men lacrosse). Five Lees-McRae team posters (women soccer, men soccer, women lacrosse, men lacrosse, and cycling team). A calendar with my best shots of the Lees-McRae teams. I will make a banner with my new logo to show it in my presentation. To conclude my Omega I will have a photography show before my final presentation.
My first poster studio-shoot was with the women lacrosse team. This was my first studio-shoot. Even though I was nervous, everything went smooth. The girls did an awesome job listening to me. All the poses came out really well. I was really happy with how well everything was going. Until a technology tragedy happened. After my studio-shoot with the girls, I went to take pictures of a basketball game. To avoid mixing up the lacrosse pictures with the basketball pictures, I put a new SD card in my camera. After the basketball game, I came back to my room excited to look through my lacrosse studio pictures. Turns out all my lacrosse pictures were gone when I tried to open them in my laptop. That night I learned that technology can never be trusted. Always back up your pictures, as soon as you finish shooting.
